I owe a great deal of my technical skill as a writer to the extensive amount of time I spent in the academic world, where I authored several research papers as well as my 125-page MA thesis. Those years consisted mostly of lonely, dark nights of endless research and deadlines requiring the kind of self-motivation only the most dedicated of 20-something’s can master. Luckily, I came out the other side with (most of) my sanity and a few extra skills: researching, time management, and writing, among others.
Upon graduating, I immediately entered the corporate world where I held a three-year position at a digital marketing firm. In my role as Project Manager, I learned the ins and outs of the digital sphere, as well as the fact that I don’t enjoy sitting at a desk from 9 am to 5 pm and I much rather be learning and growing and writing about it all. Since making the decision to pursue that goal, I’ve been living abroad and have found both success and happiness in developing valuable content for brands that I believe in.
